  • Reduced Non-performing Loans (NPL) ratio from 16.8% in 2014 to 5.6% by the end of 2016 (within two years of assuming the position of Chief Risk officer), this led to the end of the Bank’s 7-year loss making position
  • NPL ratio stood at 0.46% as at 31st, December 2020 being one of the lowest in Ugandan Banking Industry

  • THE CURRENT ROLE Develop and Implement the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment processes as per Basel 11 and 111 guidelines. Working with the business to plan, design and implement risk and compliance management processes, controls and assurance mechanisms to monitor existing risks and/or identify emerging risks and ensure the business is operating within its stated risk appetite Identifying new/emerging compliance obligations, managing the legislative change process and coordinating the creation and implementation of applicable policies and procedures to facilitate legislative change with input from the relevant functions. Conduct Risk assessments, measurement, monitoring, Reporting and devise risk mitigants in accordance with the Board’s approved Risk Management Strategy and the Risk appetite statement. Oversee the management of risk across the Bank’s activities; ensuring development of a comprehensive understanding of Bank’s risks and mitigation strategies. Prepare and ensure the holding of the Bank’s Risk Committee as well as participate in the meetings of the Risk Committees of the Bank Spreadhead efforts related to enterprise risk management and ensure the implementation of appropriate risk management plans and practices throughout the Bank.
