Work History

Research Assistant

Care International in Uganda and Joint Efforts to Save the Environment (JESE)

  • Conducted focus group discussions with teenage girls and boys, men and women (20 to 50 years) on how social and gender norms have influenced their lives
  • Carried out key informant interviews with district and local government officials on issues concerning Malnutrition, Teenage Pregnancies, access to sexual and reproductive health services, within their communities
  • These engagements were done with the application of the problem tree analysis, and the five WHYs data collection tools
  • Conducted household interviews with teenage girls and boys, men and women 20 to 50 years on issues such as the influence social and gender norms on their lives, access to sexual reproductive health services
  • Discussed and learned from teenage girls and boys, men and women (20 to 50 years) the various social and gender norms that exist in their communities which affect their participation in leadership, participation in decision making, ownership of resources
  • These engagements were through focus group discussions with the application of the spider mapping, and social mapping data collection tools

  • Manual Verification; manually verified refugees through capturing the bio data of each individual on the refugee family attestation card so to as to ensure that the information provided by the persons of concern is correct
  • Data Entry; captured the information of the refugees electronically with the help of RAPP and BIMS so as to verify and rule out any cases of impersonation
  • Data quality check; ensured that the refugee data captured had all the required information and of good quality
  • Document and Identity card printing; engaged in printing both refugee family attestation cards and identity cards with the aim of providing persons of concern with documents that identify them
  • Refugee document issuance; carried out a task of issuing out refugee family attestation forms and identity cards with the aim of providing them with valid refugee documents which are helpful to them in receiving relief food, medical assistance, education services among other services from the different refugee relief agencies
  • Document Filing; completed a task of organizing old and invalid refugee attestation cards in box files and this promoted proper record keeping
  • Verified the biometrics and captured the bio-data information of the persons of concern who were present for the profiling/verification exercise in both Kyaka II and Adjumani refugee settlement from December 2021 to October 2022
  • Participated in the printing of refugee family attestation cards with the objective of ensuring that all persons of concern present for the verification/profiling exercise have their documents printed out
  • Identified and referred persons with specific needs (PSNs) to other implementing partners that were serving them such as the Lutheran world federation and Medical Teams International (MTI) in order to receive assistance accordingly
  • Participated in the issuance of refugee family attestation cards and refugee identity cards to refugees with the purpose of ensuring that all refugees and asylum seekers have updated and valid documents containing their personal information
  • Updated refugee information using BIMS and RAPP for all the refugees that were present for the verification exercise in both Kyaka II and Adjumani refugee settlements
