Programs Development Planning And Coordination Skills

I have been in management positions for about 5 years now. I was a District Support Coordinator at VVOB; a Belgian International NGO running interventions in the Education sector with the ministry of Education and sports; one of them funded by HEMPEL foundation, since March 2022. I have been coordinating VVOB efforts in Uganda in all Education sector working groups, namely; ECE, Basic Education, Teacher Education Development, District Local government. I have worked in projects funded by donors like (UNICEF, USAID, LEGO, HEMPEL and the Government of Uganda, ensuring that all activities are executed to realize project objectives at region, national and international levels with other country programs that are implementing TARL through TaRL Africa. I have built collaborations and coordinated teams, built their capacity to deliver on the objectives to realize the desired change and goals. I have led staff development and delivery mechanisms, materials development & use; staff and student teachers’ orientation, writing proposals for funding college projects and participating in top administrative meetings; physical and online. I have technical knowledge regarding major educational policies and practices having been a member of the writing panels of Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) with the top administration. This is a strategic level that helped me gain experience in strategic planning, policy dialogue and problem-solving skills on multilateral and/or public sector programs and high-level issues articulation and management as a member of the top administration team and a member of different working groups like departments; academic, health, security, environmental, co-curricular activities and self-reliant skills.

Technical And Operational Support To Implementation Of Programs

I have been a District Support Coordinator to the HEMPEL funded Teaching at the Right Level project and have supported in training Master Trainers, district officers, PTC leaders and Instructors in primary schools of the same program under UNICEF in Madio-kolo and Terego, plus TARL PliCS under LEGO in Adjumani and the Rwenzori. I have provided support in planning with the respective departments /programs like in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, District local teams and Teacher Education, Educators and researchers in TWAWEZA in Uganda and East Africa from 1999 to 2022, as a professional educator in Pre-Primary and Primary curriculum.

Networking And Partnerships Building Skills

In Uganda, I have participated in several MoES programs in education, where I have been delivering educational programs, presenting reports and results to fulfill the National objectives of Education. I have closely worked with UNICEF, USAID, World Vision International, Plan International, RTI etc. Such networks made me instrumental to the extent that I have enrolled for a PhD program to make meaningful contribution to the nation.

Financial Management And Monitoring Responsibilities

I was a member of the senior management as a director of studies at Kibuli Core PTC and Head of Departmental budget vote for at least 5 years. I have also budgeted for the regional activities in the Rwenzori region to implement the TaRL Project and to manage resources as per the budget from the project coordinator/ donors as on the GANNT chart. Together as the team of the TaRL Rwenzori we have developed tools and documents including operational plans, performance management plans and reports, portfolio presentations and official briefing materials for the program at the Local level. I was responsible for managing and monitoring the performance of schools and education partners in my area. Before leaving the government post, I managed the Academic Department budgets for both student teachers and staff including school practice activities and examinations as required by my superiors.

Regular Travel Responsibility

I have travelled on my different tasks as a tutor, Director of studies, national trainer and District Support Coordinator within Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and in the early years to Sweden while representing my school and training or assessing learners or assessing programs to uplift our education standards. I have driven for the last 10 years and have a valid driving license of Uganda.

In my experience as a teacher trainer for at least 6 years, I have organized and conducted recruitment processes with the top administration team. As Head of programs, I organized and conducted CPDs Continuous Development Courses to build existing staff plus orientation programs for the new recruits to introduce them to the work culture. I know a number of Ugandan languages and have worked with USAID/RTI/LARA plus VVOB and GPE to train teachers into implementing the Early Grade Reading methodology and the transition class with 'I can read and write' primers in a number of districts and participated in developing the training materials too.


I have worked with organizations like Plan International, UWEZO/TWAWEZA, GTZ, BEUPA, World Vision and Save the children during my entire experience under the Ministry of Education and Sports, Uganda on several programs in education including reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.


I have experience in one-on-one assessment of learners and using trackers for mentors' performance evaluations, review meetings and parent plus district officials engagement and feedback.

I learnt to design assessment tools with UNEB, NCDC and UWEZO/TWAWEZA and later with VVOB and TaRL Africa. I attended the TaRL Boot Camp in Nairobi to polish my skills.

Travelling, swimming, reading

I love travelling with a purpose and to meet different people to learn from them and if possible share what I know. I reached Sweden while in secondary school to represent my school in celebrations of an organization that was building us facilities; operations Days' Work. I have traveled several times within East Africa on profession grounds and have learnt to adjust in my foods, habits and language use. In my recent job I traveled frequently from Kasese to Kampala, to Arua and Adjumani supporting other organization teams to implement the Teaching at the Right Level Approach with ease.

On some occasions I also drive myself and family to distant places like Mbarara, Iganga, Kasese and Hoima.
