· Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and UMRA guidelines and regulations on prudential norms failure of which the Bank can incur losses as a result of penalties.

· To monitor and control portfolio credit and provide remedial measures to avert bad credits.

· Undertake portfolio evaluations and conduct comprehensive studies on the industry and environment to test the resilience of the loan portfolio and avoid future losses.

· Evaluate and implement appropriate remedial strategies such as restructuring of loan facility, enhancement in credit limits or reduction in interest rates to help improve clients’ repayment capacity.

· Monitor performance of team through periodic performance reviews and ensure that staff are performing to expectation according to agreed targets and identify and address areas for improvement.

· Review and maintain business continuity through robust succession plan for the unit for smooth flow of business operations and ensure cover in the face of unplanned interruptions, losses or absence of staff

· Oversee the Credit Administration function

  • Top Sales Agency Ltd was the sole distributor of all Azuri payGo solar products in Uganda. As a start-up company and as its first Operations Manager, I was responsible for:.
  • Formulating the company’s policies and procedures as well as setting up workplace standards that guide in the running of the operations to boost long term business success and increased profits.
  • Setting up staff schedules both in the field and Call Centre.
  • In charge of negotiating and contracting for all service providers.
  • Set up of staff performance monitoring tools to ensure high levels of performance, that could be analyzed on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Established and administered annual budget with controls to prevent overages, minimize burn rates and support sustainability.
  • Managed Inventory ensuring that there was seamless stock tracking from warehouse to sales points and clear tracking of all returns. We recorded the least stock losses in the market.
  • In charge of Credit collections within the company for all solar units lent out. With the team, we were able to register the best repayment within the Azuri solar distributors.
  • Conducting refresher trainings and coaching with in the team to keep them abreast of the solar environment.
