Accomplishments

  • Developed the procurement and Fleet strategy for Malaria Consortium and SNV Uganda.
  • As Commodity warehouse manager at World vision, I introduced pipeline analysis and commodity planning which helped to prevent pipeline breaks in distribution of Nutritional Food commodities (World Vision) under the maternal child health and nutrition (MCHN) component of the USD 41 million USAID funded growth health and governance program (GHG) in Karamoja Uganda.
  • As the Logistics Manager for Malaria Consortium, I spearheaded the review and enforcing of the procurement policy, assets policy and stores manuals. I contributed to change in the distribution strategy of mosquito nets to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under two years when implementing the USD 45 million USAID’s malaria action program for districts (MAPD) project shifting from push system to pull system for medical supplies that were required by the health facilities supported by the MAPD project thereby improving accountability of the mosquito nets and medicines provided through the government supply chain systems.
  • As operations manager SNV, I drafted the Uganda Fleet policy which is being benchmarked on to produce the SNV global fleet policy, drafted the security manual for SNV Uganda, spearheaded improvements and changes to the global contracting and procurement policy. Introduced procurement planning in SNV Uganda and spearheaded using it as a tool for efficiency in project implementation and organizational management.
  • I have offered training in the donor procurement guidelines of EU, ECHO, and USAID. Improved on turnaround time in procurement by ensuring procurement plans are drawn at beginning of year and procurement tracking done monthly.
  • As Procurement manager for the USAID Feed the future Uganda water and food systems activity, I have been able to set up offices in Moroto, Soroti and Kapchorwa and streamlined procurement and logistics processes that facilitated the startup of the activity.
