Work History

Marketing & Engagement Coordinator

Living Goods (U) Ltd
06.2018 - Current
  • Working closely with the Senior Manager of Field Operations Effectiveness to develop and implement marketing plans that ensured high performance and motivation of Village Health Teams (VHTs), for example, my coordinator role in this was to design exciting sales push and pull promotional tactics to motivate VHTs and clients to restock Living Good's nutritional and health products, by working closely with suppliers to ensure that they support our discounting and promotion.

  • Successfully managed and implemented partners interests for instance, worked with GiveDirectly to implement their welfare plan to extend financial grants to Living Good’s clients that were affected by Covid -19, my coordinator role in this was to work with analytics team to identify vulnerable House Hold’s and VHT’s in our area of operation, from which I would send consent SMS as a prerequisite qualification for scheme where up to 25000 Households received financial support.

  • I oversaw my organization's product development projects by conducting market research and periodic product category reviews to identify and delist non-commercially viable products and took the initiative to test and recommend new ones, my strategic role in this involved working closely with the selected branch teams to ideate and test the commercial viability of proposed projects, for instance, the proposal to introduce a new and affordable nutritional product named the healthy start booster was submitted to management for review and was rolled out.

  • Led the development of branding tools to increase visibility and awareness of Living Goods health services in the marketplace, for instance, I worked with agencies to creatively design highly engaging marketing and communications content and tools, including VHT signage, flyers, wall branding, teardrops, posters, etc.
  • Strategically developed community-level wellness campaigns that included regular medical camps and community events to educate about the importance of family planning, immunization, better nutrition, and disease prevention.

  • Strategically developed behavioral change campaigns that enhanced the demand and utilization of my organization’s community health services in underserved communities, for instance, streamlined the role of community groups such as local leaders to drive the desired health outcomes.

  • Led regular communication with VHTs and clients by using the two-way digital SMS platform to promote best health practices and generate demand for my organization’s health products including those for nutrition, my coordinator role in this included working with the advocacy team, Health teams, and communications manager to develop creative health-related SMS content.

  • Mapped, evaluated, and adopted appropriate innovations, For instance, I coordinated the testing and implementation phase of the Client-Initiated Health Assessment (CIHA) SMS model in 2021, my role in this experiment was to work with a technology consultant to design the 2-way interactive SMS workflows in Rapid pro (SMS platform), identify and update VHT contact databases for targeted clients and VHTs, then finally send an SMS that triggers a call to action.
  • I Led regular communication with field agents and clients using the two-way digital SMS platform to promote best health practices and generate demand for Living Goods products and services, my coordinator role in this included working with the CHP team, Health teams, and communications manager to develop creative health-related SMS content.

  • I suggested and organized price surveys that helped my organization make competitive pricing decisions so that the company's goods are reasonably priced below the market median price while keeping a 17 percent margin, to coordinate this, I had to choose a survey agency, define the terms of reference and the scope of work, analyze data, update product master lists, share draft pricing lists for SLT approval, then distribute final price lists to branches, and ultimately handle feedback.

  • Created content for media relations, corporate communications, and social media posts to maximize advertising efforts.

My role in these experiments was to work with a technology consultant to design the 2-way interactive SMS workflows in Rapid pro (SMS platform), identify and update CHW contact databases for targeted clients and VHTs, then finally send an SMS that triggers a call to action.

Health Messaging A/B Testing Experiment 2021 - Worked with Busara on the A/B testing project to determine the uptake of different health messaging copy and tones. Free Meds Experiment 2022 – Supported the design & testing phase of the free meds experiment across 3 branches (Magale, Kakiri & Iganga). My key task involved conducting focus group discussions to generate team insight about the study and developing a communication plan & materials with key messages to inform key stakeholders ( VHTs, LC1s, Branch team, and district leadership) about the sudden change in the business model across different arms of the experiment. Also worked on the different pricing plans for the different arms of the experiment.

Peer Supervision Roll Out 2022 – Supported efforts to enroll up to 4100 Peer leaders across the network for instance, working with the Finance, trainers, and branch teams to ensure that Peer Leaders were timely facilitated to attend training events and group meetings. But also periodically audited the process to manage potential replacements and groupings.

For instance, between May and July 2020, I worked with the deputy country director to implement Givedirectly's welfare plan to extend financial grants to LG's clients that were affected by Covid -19. My coordinator role in this was to work with the analytics team to identify vulnerable HHs and VHTs in our area of operation, from which I would send consent SMS as a prerequisite qualification for the scheme.

Buffer Phone Initiative 2022 - Innovated and recommended installing a depository of android phone Buffer stocks at branches in a bid to reduce the VHT phone replacement cycle and improve attrition and reporting. My role involved the development and submission of at least 2 project proposals for review by end of Q1 2022. Final approval was made in Q2 2022 and intervention was successfully rolled out. Currently, phone replacement turnaround time was reduced.

No Sales Campaign 2022 – To align with the government, I Successfully coordinated the development and implementation of the No Sales campaign. For instance, developed a profitable product exit strategy and communications plan for the country. Escalated plan for approval and roll out.
