  • Providing technical support in design and development of Social Behaviour Change interventions use for policy, framework and strategy support to eight government line ministries and 16 Programme Corporation Agreement (PCA) Partners
  • Providing technical and operational support to deliver social and behaviour change interventions for addressing humanitarian emergencies (Marburg, Ebola and COVID-19) and development interventions
  • Leading on technical support to Basic Education Adolescent Programme PCA and District Local Government (DLG) Partners to conduct community, district and national led advocacy engagement that provide network and partnership building opportunities
  • Promoting achievements of SBC positive results in childhood care, protection, education and health through Social and Behaviour Change Communication that include Social research and data analysis, risk communication & community engagement and alliance building during emergencies and development phases
  • Conducting oversight to SBC innovations that support realization of results under Basic Education Adolescent Development Programme and Emergencies for Education
  • Key Achievements:
  • SBC interventions were implemented during humanitarian crises (including Marburg, Ebola, and COVID-19) and in development initiatives
  • This rollout was conducted in collaboration with Civil Society Partners and technical working groups from Line Ministries, specifically focusing on Early Childhood and Adolescent Development & Participation
  • Developed and co-facilitated participatory training methodologies in seven districts of Karamoja, Uganda
  • This led to significant increase in male action groups and community collaboration to tackle child violence, including re-enrolling girls in school, curbing child marriage, and enhancing community policing to address and report violence
  • Provided technical and operational support to sector systems strengthening of SBC capacities that delivered social and behaviour change interventions which led to 80 percent utilization of health, education and protection services in 30 focus districts during COVID19 pandemic and the Ebola Virus Disease outbreaks and epidemics
  • Developed a SBC COVID-19 Micro Plan, achieving 80 percent adoption by a intersectoral committee of 21 line ministries, departments, and agencies
  • It reached 15 million registered school children and adolescents, resulting in a 75 percent uptake of SBC interventions and 40 percent reduction in registered cases of violence against children during the pandemic.

Communication for Development Officer
