Summary

A self-motivated and hardworking development worker with seventeen (17) years of development, humanitarian and transitional context experience gained through working with CSOs, INGOs, National NGOs, Local Governments and Private sector actors delivering value for money interventions. I have solid experience managing development programs in different contexts with wide and varied budgets, I also have broad expertise in leading the design and implementation of complex programs, using available MERL practices to ensure program results are delivered within an acceptable standard and framework, I possess broad knowledge and understanding of the major drivers of inequality with practical experience in designing and Implementing transformation strategies. I also have extensive experience designing capacity building programs, with skills in design and managing implementation of Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) Education and Youth Economic Empowerment, Child Sponsorship Programming, Advocacy and Influencing programs in development and humanitarian contexts. With wide skills and knowledge in organizational financial and grants management for instance working with different donors, their revenue cycles, managing budgeting processes and estimating costs and their ratios among others. I have good analytical, interpersonal and conceptual skills, I am well conversant with PIU processes and systems, I am agile at the work place, attentive to detail, good with multi-tasking and a quick decision maker. I believe in team work and always looking forward to provide solutions to challenges.

  • Ably led the phase in, set-up and functionalized the West Nile Nebbi Program Area office for Plan International Uganda within 18 months although target was 36 months, all departments, systems and processes are operational to date.
  • Provided leadership during the annual planning and budgeting process to ensure all departmental budgets came on time, accurate and reflected the needs of the program area.
  • Led the development and operationalization of the program area long term plan, embedded MERL activities, created space for reflection with teams and further revision as the need arose.
  • Provided leadership in the delivery of high-quality child sponsorship communication, sponsorship program alignment and sponsor satisfaction. To date, the Program Area (PA) is the most performing on delivering sponsorship commitments with an annual KPI of 95% for FY23.
  • Ably built a high performing staff portfolio from 4 staff in 2019 to between 45 -55 staff currently, they are motivated and delivering PIU’s current Country Strategy, we have seen less than 2% staff attrition annually.
  • Ensured compliance to Plan International’s global and localized policies, Government of Uganda compliance requirements as well, offering space for reflection with teams, partners and all associates.
