Policy and technical guidance in Agribusiness and value addition of agricultural products. This involves;

i. Provide technical guidance in the review and implementation of policies, legislation regulations, standards, plans, strategies, programs and projects in relation to Agribusiness, value addition, primary processing, enterprise development and food security

ii. Provide technical advice on agricultural enterprise development, value addition, primary processing value addition;

iii. Generate, analyze and disseminate information on current food systems, primary processing and value addition and food security situations;

iv. Provide technical support for capacity building of MAAIF, LGs and other stakeholders to enhance households incomes and commercialization strategies;

v. Establish collaborative mechanisms with national, regional and international institutions and organizations in agriculture sector to implement initiatives in line Sustainable Development Goal one and two ;

vi. Provide technical support in the formulation and implementation of plans and strategies for commodity value chain and agricultural value chain/ enterprise development;

vii. Establish and operationalize commodity stakeholder platforms and frameworks to manage implementation of commodity value chain for sustainable production,processing and value addition.

viii. Appraise and recommend agribusiness enterprises/ investments along the various value chain.

ix. support regional initiatives on food safety and food security.

X. support technical committees to develop strategies to involve youth in Agricultural Value chains in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and other stakeholders.

Analyzed Maize &rice pest and diseases, Breeding & selection of out standing maize and rice varieties for rollout to the farmers, developing new lines with , collection of maize and rice field data, carrying out proper agronomical practices of maize and rice trials, data collection, entry and analysis.
