- Undergoing a highly intensive 6-month training in Drilling and Completions at the IFP Training School in Pau France
- Modules covered so far include, Fundamentals of drilling and completions, Directional drilling, Data acquisition, Drill bits and string, Well intervention, Well completion equipment, Equipment of naturally flowing wells, Well productivity, Wellbore treatments, Well architecture and equipment, Artificial lift, Mud and Cement, Geology for Drillers, T-desk and ADEPT, HSE, Tongs and slips, T-STEP
- Looking forward to my IWCF certification exam in 2 weeks’ time.
Operations Engineer/Shift Leader

- I worked as a Shift Leader on a 12-hour shift (rotational basis in a remote camp) in an 84MW hydro power plant in Uganda where I was assigned the following duties,
- Lead teams carrying out synchronous machine start-up, synchronizing and stopping
- In charge of plant general safety during day-to-day activities
- Assist in reviewing and updating technical instructions, procedures and other documents
- Conduct daily safety toolbox and pre-job meetings
- Implement resolutions of the safety meeting in the whole plant
- Update the plant incident database and report incidents on a daily basis
- Manage the work permits procedure using a CMMS tool/software
- Review electrical wiring drawings and suggest modifications if necessary
- Held the duty of a SCADA/DCS Engineer
- Test, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions on equipment
- Coordinate daily operations and maintenance activities in the plant
- Train new staff on plant fundamentals and operations
- Coordinate plant emergency response
- Prepare power availability and dispatch reports
- Prepare power revenue sheets
- Prepare reports on abnormal plant events
- Suggest improvements in the existing operations, safety and maintenance systems.
