Registration Assistant

National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA)

  • I managed a budget of up to 2.8m shillings and worked with multiple teams and stakeholders to achieve the project’s goals and meet aggressive deadlines on time and underbudget.
  • My team managed to hit the target of registering 90 individuals per day per kit by capturing their biometrics and photos according to the required standards of NIRA.

Registration Assistant

National Identification and Registration Authority (Registration of Learners Project)
08.2017 - 12.2017
  • I directed a team of 12 at the sub county level through all stages of deadline driven project of registering learners in Rugarama Sub County in Ntungamo district. We managed to hit the target of registering 80 learners per day per kit.
  • I moved to schools; sensitised and trained teachers and parents on how to fill and complete registration forms for their children and its importance to the learner. This made entering data in the system very easy since there were few or no mistakes in the registration forms.
  • Effective Communication: I communicated closely with clients, stakeholders and my team in setting goals which helped in meeting aggressive project deadlines.

Associate Research Trust and World Bank – Gender Innovations Lab
12.2016 - 06.2017
  • Company Overview: World Bank funded Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project that supported a program for systematic land adjudication and registration in Western Uganda
  • After facing a stiff sabotage from politicians, I proposed a new approach of involving political leaders and the media. I organized talk shows and workshops that sensitised Area Land Committees, Local Councils and District Land Boards about the project and its benefits to selected families. Eventually, the project was run with ease since people had the necessary information.
  • I visited respondents who had initially rejected the offer of freehold land titles, explained to them about the importance of registering their lands and how beneficial it is to them in the future. Eventually, 80% of these respondents accepted the offer.
  • I directed a team of over 8 in a deadline driven project. Together with the Chairman LC I, surveyors and Area Land Committees, we demarcated, surveyed and adjudicated 25 parcels of land in the districts of Mbarara, Isingiro, Sheema and Buhweju.
