The main purpose of my job was to provide professional leadership, guidance and coordination in the conduct of assessment and certification of vocational qualifications as well as ensure effective performance of the department.
My key roles were;
i) Coordination of assessment and certification of Vocational Qualifications in the Country;
ii) Coordination of the review and development of appropriate Regulations and Guidelines for assessment and certification of Vocational Qualifications;
iii) Coordination of the review, design and development of assessment instruments for Vocational Qualifications;
iv) Monitoring and evaluation of the assessment and certification process for vocational Qualifications;
v) Establishment of strategic alliances and collaboration mechanisms with the relevant stake holders at National and International levels;
vi) Coordination and participation in sensitization of relevant stakeholders on all aspects regarding assessment and certification of Vocational Qualifications in the country
vii)Maintenance of the register of all successful candidates awarded various Vocational Qualifications;
viii) Coordination of the development and maintenance of an up to date data bank on the assessment instruments and qualifications for the various vocational disciplines;
ix) Quality assurance of Assessment and Certification Instruments before their submission to the Director for endorsement and publication;
x) Coordination of the identification and submission of names of members for appointment on Assessment Panels;
xi) Management and appraisal of staff of the Assessment and Certification Department;
xii)Coordination of the preparation and submission of work plans and budgets for the Department to relevant authorities for action;
xiii) Management and accounting for the resources and performance of the Department;
xiv) Coordination of the preparation and submission of the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual performance report for the Department.
