Cooking
Am an office cook at Polatyol Uganda and started as a tea girl but later was trained on how to prepare some of the Turkish meals and became a cook after mastering their dishes. I have worked for Polatyol Uganda for four years, the first year I was a fully working and the last Three years I worked while studying till I finished my first degree .
Preparing all meals that is breakfast, lunch and dinner
Serving the meals to office employees and clearing the dining table
Washing the dishes and utensils used in the kitchen
Keeping the kitchen clean
Making daily requisition of the ingredients used in preparing the meals
Attending to the visitors and giving them tea, coffee or water as per their request
I trained in four departments while at Forest Cottages Hotel, Naguru
1. FOOD PRODUCTION
Preparing minsenplace for example peeling onions, carrots, kneading dough for making African Chapattis, cleaning working surfaces
Working on simple guest orders like preparing different teas (dawa, African,spiced, black), coffee, fresh fruit juices
2. HOUSE KEEPING
Making guest beds, cleaning the guest rooms thoroughly, refilling guest amenities like soap, water, toilet paper
3. FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE
Receiving orders from guests and serving them, clearing tables, setting up the tables, serving buffets
4. FRONT OFFICE
Receiving guests and welcoming them, showing them the empty rooms,
Checking in guests manually and in the system
