ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Draft, review, fine-tune, and fully develop farming training curriculum.
2. Provide training based on the developed curricula during the project’s time on the basics of growing crops and rearing livestock based on the seasonal requirements.

3. Draft and develop farming plans according to the seasons and climate conditions.
4. Facilitate knowledge sharing among beneficiaries.

5. Coordinate training to farmers in the surrounding villages through Model Farmers for adopting improved agriculture methods and technologies .

6. Draft and develop the sustainability plan for supporting beneficiaries to implement their own agriculture projects and budgeting their projects with implementing organization.

7. Work closely with the project coordinator to plan, design and assist in implementation of other project-related activities

RESULTS

I. Trained and coached Save the Children International ― Kiryadongo Field Office staff in Participatory Agro-Enterprise Development using Enabling Rural Innovation approaches (March,

2019)

II. Executed End-of-Project Evaluations of the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) financed Socio-economic support to People Living with HIV/AIDS phase I implemented by Comboni Samaritans of Gulu (September, 2019)

III. Trained and coached Comboni Samaritans of Gulu staff in Participatory Agro-Enterprise Development using Enabling Rural Innovation approaches (March, 2020)

IV. Executed Mid-Term-Review of the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) financed Socioeconomic support to People Living with HIV/AIDS phase II implemented by Comboni Samaritans of Gulu (December, 2020)

RESULTS

I. I identified, recruited, trained and mentored 20 Trainers of Trainees (ToTs) in Participatory AgroEnterprise Development (PAED) modules using the Enabling Rural Innovation approaches and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) methodologies.

II. Developed Agro-value chain farming Calendars and plans.

III. Facilitated the establishment and management of Community Enterprise Learning Sites for (Fruit) trees; Vegetables and Field crops.

IV. Developed Quarterly and monthly plans and budgets.

V. Promoted technologies adoption by providing technical backstopping in the Production and management of selected Enterprises and conducting Farmers’ Participatory Research.

VI. Provided business support through market surveys and linkage to traders and Private sector.

VII. I facilitated the development of, and stream lined cross-cutting issues (e. g HIV/AIDS, gender, environmental protection) and advocacy in the implementation of project activities.

RESULTS

1. Prepared, organized and executed farmers' training using mixed methods approach.

2. Conducted regular farm and store inspections ensuring that all farmers comply with organic regulations in their production methods .

3. Kept registers of all farmers, their farm sizes, number of coffee trees, coffee deliveries per season and sales per season.

4. successfully raised one 1,127 coffee seedlings for distribution by Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA)

RESULTS

I. I identified, selected, formed and operationalized Thirty two (32) Youth Agribusiness Groups.

II. I provided technical and business support to Youth Agribusiness groups(32) in Production, market linkages and Village Savings and Loan Associations

III. Developed, tested and reviewed training curricula for Cabbage, Onion, Tomato and Piggery to support Young Model Farmers for Skills and Knowledge transfer.

IV. I facilitated the development of, and streamlined cross-cutting issues (HIV/AIDS and Gender) in the implementation of project activities at community level and among partner institutions.

V. I identified, selected, trained and mentored 320 Youths (F= 154, M=166) as Young Model Farmers in enterprises of the Youth Agribusiness Group’s choices.

VI. I actively engaged stakeholders in implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project progress on monthly and quarterly basis

RESULTS

I. Federated 16 farmer groups and linked them to Wadelai Produce and Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd

II. Designed research protocol and conducted Participatory Research at Aratarach Farmers’ Resource Centre

III. Supervised and provided technical support to Aratarach Farmers’ Resource Centre

IV. I implemented, monitored and evaluated project progress as informed by existing occurrences and reported to relevant stakeholders

V. I facilitated the development and implementation of programme activities at Community level in line with area work plans

VI. I documented and submitted activity progress reports (monthly and quarterly) reports to the Task manager

VII. I implemented, monitored and evaluated programme activities

VIII. I participated in research including baseline and other surveys, and needs assessment of community development demands and expectations.

IX. I executed training needs assessment and provided technical support to farmers, community groups and other stakeholder institutions.

X. I prepared and submitted timely quality progress reports on implementation as per agreed schedules with the programme coordinator.

RESULTS

I. I conducted routine cluster and school extension linkage interactions.

II. I facilitated the school garden committees to mobilize inputs for setting Demonstrations.

III. I mobilized and Sensitized Sub-County, school management and School Communities about CEP (Community Empowerment project).

IV. I collected routine monitoring information on clusters and school gardens.

V. I trained cluster members and pupils in improved agro-technologies and income generating activities.
