Undertook monthly monitoring of construction sites at different schools that were being funded under USDP project and this included

• Ensured the certificate from the National Environment Management Authority was obtained and displayed.
• Ensured that the CESMP was available and properly displayed.
• Checked if there was a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE), Waste, Dust, and Traffic/Transport plans available and displayed.
• Monitored waste management and disposal practices at the site.
• Ensured that landscaping and greening measures were implemented at the site
• Monitored the presence of site hoarding or fencing to ensure environmental and safety protocols.
• Verified whether PPE was available and usage enforced
• Ensured that there were separate toilet facilities for males and females on-site.
• Verified whether regular (monthly) reporting mechanism for environmental and social safeguards issues was undertaken

• Ensured that project activities comply with the Project Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) processes and procedures.
• Conducted environmental screening for all project activities and assist in preparing activity-specific Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Organized environmental orientation, awareness, and training sessions.
• Prepared environmental information materials and support the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) in disseminating this information to stakeholders.
• Reviewed project activity plans to ensure environmental factors and mitigation measures are incorporated.
