Tasks

• Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of the project
• Managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time completion and adherence to financial targets.
• Negotiating contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to optimize project costs and mitigate risks.
• Implementing quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards of construction excellence and safety.
• Collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Leading cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to drive project success and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Feasibility Study and detailed Engineering Design of the following road projects

Busunju – Kiboga (74km): Nebbi – Arua (76km); Kyenjojo-Fortportal – hima (100km); Misindye – Kiyunga (12km)

Duties performed;

• Coordinated all the project activities from inception to completion i.e. feasibility through detailed design to preparation of tender documents.
• Organised and participated in stakeholder engagements
• Spearheaded the review of the review of the estimated project cost, special specification and Bidding documents
• Participated in the preparation of the estimated bill of quantities
• Compiled the overall design report
• Participated in the conducting a checking of the Engineering and Economic viability of the investment in the project using HDM-4 tool
• Prepared the project status reports and conducted project progress meetings
• Participated in the technical evaluation process to select the civil works contractor
• Participated in the preparation of the technical specifications that form part of the bidding documents

Projects

Supervising external Design and Construction Supervision Consultants on the following projects

Civil works for the; upgrading of Vurra-arua-Koboko- Oraba road (94km) from Gravel to bitumen, Rehabilitation of Kyenjojo-Fortportal (50km); Construction of Awoja Bridge (1.5km), Soroti; Aswa Bridge (Gulu)

Feasibility study and Detailed Engineering Design of the Kampala Outer beltway (100km), Kitgum – Kidepo (96km) Lira-Kamudini-Gulu Road (130 km) and Corner Ayer-Corner-Aboke-Bobi-Bobi Road (55 km, Kitgum – Kidepo (108), Rwenkunye-Apac-Lira-Acholibur (250km)

Duties Performed:

• Conducted monthly field inspections to check contractor’s work for compliance with specifications
• Prepared monthly contract Management Reports
• Processed and reviewed the invoices and interim payment certificates submitted by the design and supervision consultants respectively
• Organized and Participated in Stakeholder engagements
• Prepared and responded to correspondences
• Participated in the monitoring the materials and geotechnical investigations carried out
• Organised and conducted progress meetings and presentation of design reports by consultants
• Participated in the verification of the measurements for completed works submitted by the civil works contractor for payment
• Reviewed Consultant's monthly progress Reports
