SAFE Program, Supporting Access to Justice, Fostering Equity and Peace, was a six-year development program operating in 2012-2018 that aims to strengthen access to justice with preference to land rights and strengthen the capacity of thegovernment of Uganda with respect to Peace and conflict mitigation. The program also supported the government of Uganda by working with Non-State Actors to foster and Promote Natural Resources Governance, including Oil and Gas, Forests, Wetlands and other mineral resources in the Albertine region of Uganda. Specifically, My roles were:-

  • Led in the design of tools and methodologies, as well as conducting baseline surveys, needs assessments, monitoring and evaluation systems, impact assessments, annual Internal evaluations, and other M&E activities while assuring quality.
  • Lead the design of projects, Planning and Budgeting process for SAFE Program.
  • Led in the design and preparation of training packages (leaflets, hand-outs etc.) for use by other Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Sharing staff working in the county and in the field, e.g. survey enumerators and data entry technicians.
  • Provided feedback related to collected data and information and data from the surveys and studies to stakeholders to USAID.

That is, Principles of Accounts and Home Economics, which equipped students with early theoretical knowledge subjects that can be applied even if they didn’t further their studies beyond the Ordinary level. By the time I left, twothirds of the Students had embraced the new subjects and were hoping to sit for them in their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Examinations.
  • Was Patron, Debating Club and during my tenure, I organized weekly debating competitions (internal) and monthly (external, inter-school) so as to equip students with public speaking skills and also to develop personal confidence while expressing themselves.
