Summary

I have been working for 12 years, of which 11 years with World Food Programme in Malakal, Rumbek, and Torit, South Sudan as Programme Associate and Monitoring Assistant. Also, worked for a year as WASH Officer with local agency, Lead Development Agency in Upper Nile State of South Sudan.

I have experience and worked in emergency locations. During Sudan crisis in 2023, I participated in Renk emergency respond from November 2023 to January 2024, during that period I manged to distribution a total of 9.304 mt of High energy biscuit to 23,634 individuals' on a daily basics to returnees who are transiting to Malakal and other destinations within South Sudan.

From June, 2014- May 2016, in Upper Nile State, during crisis in Upper Nile State we managed to conducted food distribution, monthly monitoring and post distribution monitoring successfully in Malakal Town- POC, Baliet Fashoda, Penyikang, Akoka, Renk and Maban Counties.

I have hands-on experience in implementing multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral people driven community-based food assistance, Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), M&E, school feeding, food security and Nutrition monitoring Survey programs. I have been engaged in various assessments as well as preparing cooperative partners monthly invoices. Supportive joint supervision monitoring of WFP/UNICEF and State Ministry supported programs, review of cooperating partners proposals and distribution reports.

Trained nutrition workers in various counties of Lakes State on CMAM and how to conduct Z-score/ MUAC screening in nutrition sites and secured that nutrition reports submitted by the cooperative partners on weekly/ monthly bases to WFP Rumbek FO and for onward submission to country office.

    During my rolls as General food distribution (GFD) focal point in Torit FO, i was responsible of the following;

    • In collaboration with Head of Unit, prepared and implemented distribution plans.
    • Participated in the design and implementation of WFP programme with particular emphasis on problem analysis, defining the role of food assistance and providing recommendations on targeting of such assistance along geographic, sectoral, or socioeconomic lines.
    • Produced a continuing stream of useful information between the various UN Agencies and NGOs and sub office teams, and facilitate planning activities, meeting coordination, report production and reviews.
    • Support nutrition programme (TSFP, BSFP and IFP) and General Food Distribution (GFD) programme management ensuring a coordinated approach with wider project that comply with WFP standards and procedures as well as national polices guidelines.
    • Liaised with implementation partners and government to monitor the project and ensuring effective collaboration, timeliness, efficiency, and highlight risks of project delivery.
    • Providing technical support to cooperating partners and effectively coordinate the programme implementation of General Food distribution (GFD), target supplementary feeding programme (TSFP), Blanket feeding programme and Institutional Feeding Programs (IFP) for Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and Kalazar patients and caretakers.
    • Following standard emergency operation in Renk and conduct daily distribution of High energy biscuit at the post for the returnees who are traveling to Malakal for onward transportation to other locations.

  • Participated on Food security Nutrition Monitoring system in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and participated in IPC analysis in 2020 that conducted in Aweil.
  • Participated in project proposal review committee meetings at sub office level; guide and support sub office in budget negotiations with NGO partners to support programme implementation, formulation of distribution plans and on general operational coordination matters with NGO partners.
  • Conducted Post distribution monitoring and process monitoring in 11 Counties in Upper Nile State and 8 Counties in Lakes State.

  • Undertook post distribution monitoring to understand use of WFP supplied food aid commodities and the effects of food aid on household food security.
  • Provided technical guidance in project designs and prepare project documents with Cooperating partners and relevant government ministries.
  • Participated in needs assessments to gain better understanding of the livelihoods of returnees, returning IDPs and the context in which they live in South Sudan.
  • Contributed to preparedness actions, such as early warning, risk analysis and contingency planning and make the necessary recommendations.
  • Analyzed and prepared projections for food commodities and non-food items to ensure timely call forward.
  • Monitored the food security situation in responsibility, identify areas of intervention and needs for food and coordinate timely delivery of food aid to the beneficiaries.
  • Maintain records on programme activities, from formulation stage through completion, by extracting relevant information from reports, project committees, and other related purposes; ensure project cycle deadlines are met.
  • Reconcile CP monthly distribution reports and entre reports into COMET for validation.
  • Analyzed and prepared monthly invoices for WFP cooperative partners for 6 programme activities (GFD, TSFP, BSFP, IFP, FFA and FFE).
  • Conducted school head count and participating during distribution of deworming in the schools in Upper Nile and Lakes State.
