Engineering Design Review (2015 - 2016)

• Reviewed preliminary cost estimates for scheme to fit funder eligibility criteria.
• Determined final schemes cost estimates using the funder eligibility criteria.
• Grouped engineering designs and selected for each funder depending on costing criteria.
• Submitted grouped schemes to management for further progression.
• Followed up with management to secure approvals of packaged schemes.
• Supported management in compiling documentation required by the two portfolios.
• Financing agreement was signed on 22nd September 2015.

• Secured funding from world bank amounting to USD 16 million for all schemes meeting selection criteria of USD 1500 per connections.
• Secured funding from KfW, Frankfurt amounting to EUR 10 million for all schemes located in rural and peri-urban Uganda, meeting KfW eligibility criteria of Euro 1,300 per connection.
• Secured counter part contribution from Government of Uganda amounting to Euro 5million for other Programme expenses.
• Delivered six (6) grid densification Implementation agreements signed between Rural Electrification Agency and with five private distribution companies to implement the two programs.
• Successfully procured a supervision consultant for grid densification Programme.
• Handed over Grid Intensification schemes to ERT Portfolio for further implementation.

Project Identification (2014-2015)

• Monitored of Electricity Territories for new distribution network expansion schemes.
• Initiated the idea for extending existing grid by transformer insertions and low voltage extensions in areas within 2km proximity to the national grid.
